The Green Living Centre started out as The Watershed, a joint initiative of Marrickville Council and the City of Sydney, located on King Street Newtown. The shopfront closed in 2017 but we continue to operate out of Petersham Service Centre, as an initiative of Inner West Council.
Green Living Centre Workshop Series
The Green Living Centre workshop series aims to educate, upskill and empower residents of the Inner West Council area to live a more sustainable lifestyle and reduce their carbon emissions. We deliver workshops at sites across the local government area in our focus areas of energy, waste, food and transport. Workshop topics include food waste avoidance, gardening including food growing, composting & worm farming, as well as a variety of craft, upcycling and repair topics. We also conduct one-on-one solar assessments with an energy expert on a monthly basis.
Solar Assessments are still going strong! They’re a bespoke 45 minute consultation for local residents who prefer a face-to-face discussion about the solar potential of their property. There are no sales involved and the advice is independent.
Book in via Eventbrite on our Workshops page.

We also work with the Events team to manage Inner West Council’s annual Footprints Ecofestival in August each year. Learn about the festival on our Footprints Ecofestival page.
