This International Women’s Day (8 March) the Green Living Centre is celebrating women and offering a range of cycling engagements to encourage more women to cycle in the Inner West.
Join a guided cycling tour along the Cooks River, while learning the safest and smoothest way to get around. Led by Pedal Set Go, bike education experts, the tour will enable you to update your knowledge of road rules, bike safety equipment and how to plan your route.
The tour will stop at various points of environmental interest along the Cooks River.
Date: Saturday 13 March, 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Where: We will meet at the bottom of Alfred St Marrickville (just past no. 15) and ride to Tempe Wetlands, off South St Tempe.
Accessibility: If you have any access or support requirements in order to participate fully please let us know. There will be some bumpy parts along the route.
Who: This workshop is provided free for women over 16 years of age who can confidently ride a bike and who are residents of the Inner West local government area.
Priority will be given to Inner West residents. Search by address at the Office of Local Government website to find your local government area.
If you are not from the Inner West local government area please email education@greenlivingcentre.org.au to be put on a waitlist.
Bookings: Bookings are essential and numbers are strictly limited.
Please bring: roadworthy bike, correctly fitting Australian/NZ Standard helmet, covered shoes, comfortable clothes, water bottle, snack and wear sunscreen.
