Spring Talks: Insects

October 30, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This one hour online workshop will explore the importance of insects in our urban environment and how to create a haven for them.

How much do you know about the important jobs of insects? Australia has an amazing array of native insects , including bees, hover flies, butterflies, beetles, and so many amazing spiders. These creatures do a range of very important jobs in our ecosystems, and many of them live in your backyard!

At this online event you will hear from Dr Lizzy Lowe, a specialist in urban invertebrates who has many weird and wonderful stories about “bugs” to share with you. You will learn about the species you are likely to find in your garden or local green space, and how we can all encourage these important creatures in urban areas.

This is a free event for residents of the Inner West local government area and priority will be given to Inner West residents. Search by address at the Office of Local Government website to find your local government area if you are unsure.

If you are not from the Inner West local government area please ask to be put on a waitlist. For this and any other questions email: contact@greenlivingcentre.org.au or phone 0466 428 063.
