Save Time, Save Food workshop 1 – Creative meal planning

August 16, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Learn how to save time and save food in our series of three food waste avoidance workshops.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever bought fresh vegetables and fruits in your weekly grocery run but ended up not using them at all! 🖐 🖐🖐 Food waste means throwing time and money in the bin. One of the easiest ways to avoid this is by making meal-planning an enjoyable act, not an annoying chore!

Jo Taranto from Good for the Hood, will teach you how to prevent waste before food is even purchased. Coupled with tools and handy hacks to help plan and manage groceries, this is the session for anyone who does the grocery shop.

Henri Turra from Radish Events, a sustainable catering and events business, will talk through tips on food planning and teach you how to make The Ultimate Leftover Minestrone in a few simple steps.

Come hungry and eat your way into new techniques of meal planning and cooking. We will be giving away awesome zero food waste prizes during the workshop.

This workshop is free of charge, but we do ask one small thing: please make sure you fill out this survey on your food habits before coming to the event. You’ll be helping us think of ways we can provide better food waste-related products and services back to the community. Please use the same email address to fill out the survey and register for the event.

Accessibility: If you have any access or support requirements to participate fully, please let us know. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has an accessible toilet and lift access to the library car park. A hearing loop is available.

This workshop is presented by Inner West Council. Entry is free for residents of the Inner West Council area and priority will be given to Inner West residents. If you are unsure you can search by address at the Office of Local Government website to find your local government area.

If you are not from the Inner West local government area please email to ask to be put on a waitlist. For this and any other questions please email education@greenlivingcentre.org.au or phone 0466 428 063.

This project is supported by the Environmental Trust as part of the NSW Environment Protection Authority’s Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded from the waste levy.
