Introduction to Composting and Worm Farming

May 13, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Learn to compost and worm farm at this introductory workshop

International Composting Awareness Week was 2 May to 8 May. What better time to learn this useful skill?

Composting and worm farming are an easy and important step towards becoming a zero waste community, and to improving your gardening by enriching your soil.

Choosing the right system is the first step to successfully reducing your household waste. In this workshop we’ll explore the differences and similarities between composting and worm farming to help you choose the right one for your household. We’ll discuss how to set up and maintain your chosen system, including what to put in and what you need to leave out. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions of our experienced presenter.

You’ll also get the chance to look around a working community garden and see their composting system in action.

In the event of wet weather we will contact you with alternative venue arrangements.
