Food waste tips for busy parents with Cornersmith

March 30, 2022 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Learn how to reduce food waste in your kitchen with tips and recipes for busy parents.

Food waste makes up 37% of the average garbage bin in the Inner West Council area. Learn how to avoid food waste at this waste-free cooking demonstration.

Parenthood can be extremely busy, and leftovers are commonly forgotten. We’ll show you how to repurpose common leftovers into delectable meals that kids will love. Join Cornersmith to discuss tips and tricks for reducing food waste in your kitchen.

Alex Elliott-Howery and Jaimee Edwards have been cooking together for the last 15 years and have taught thousands of students sustainable cooking skills. They run the popular Cornersmith cooking school together and co-authored Cornersmith’s latest book Use it All. In this workshop they will show you their favourite recipes that clear out the crisper and fruit bowl to make packing school lunches a breeze.

Recipes:

  • Pantry stray muesli bar
  • What’s in the fruit bowl muffins
  • Celery sticks with celery top pesto.

This webinar is presented by the Green Living Centre, an initiative of Inner West Council.
