Food Forest Tour and Guild Planting

November 19, 2022 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Visit a productive Food Forest on the edge of Lilyfield and discover the large variety of useful permaculture plants growing there.

Discover what’s growing in Whites Creek Valley Park Food Forest and the permaculture techniques behind it.

Gillian Leahy and Sally Gillespie, volunteers at the Whites Creek Food Forest, will take you on a tour of the food forest describing the many varieties of plants and the methods used to grow and look after them. Participants will see the elements that make up a Food Forest and can take part in a guild planting. You’ll learn the ethics and some key principles of permaculture, and see how they’ve contributed to creating a communal food forest.

Meet at Whites Creek Valley Park stables.

Please bring a hat, sunscreen, closed shoes and water bottle, plus paper and pen to make notes.

Suitable for: all ages, especially people interested in growing local food, fruit trees and permaculture.

This free workshop is presented by the Green Living Centre, an initiative of Inner West Council. It is for residents of the Inner West local government area and priority will be given to Inner West residents.
